Comments
Lindenwood had a new helmet design for 2007 (shown above).
Baker was using a new helmet logo in 2005 - the word "CATS" in dark letters, as shown in the photo below. I will need a copy of this logo in order to add the new helmet to the web site - several people have sent me a similar logo which is not quite correct. This design was apparently still being used in 2006 and in 2007.

2001 was Avila's first season of varsity football. The block "A" logo shown on the first helmet above was worn on both sides of the helmet in 2001. In 2002, the "AU" logo shown on the second helmet was worn on only the right sides, while players' uniform numerals were worn on the left sides.
I had received a report prior to the 2003 season that Avila would be using a new helmet logo, but I never did receive confirmation of this once the season started. It was also reported that the "AU" logo worn on the right sides of the helmets during at least some games in 2003 had a gold outline around it, but it is unclear when this outline was added. Photographs from the 2004 season showed that this design was still in place that year ("AU" on the right sides, numerals on the left sides).
It was reported to me prior to the start of the 2005 season that the team would be switching to purple helmets with an "AU" logo on the sides, but all photographs that I have seen from actual games in 2005 and 2006 show the last helmet design shown above in use. Was the purple "AU" helmet ever used during a football game?

According to reports that I have received, Central Methodist used plain white helmets in 1972 with no stripes or logos; in 1973, a stripe and an eagle logo of unknown color(s) were added to the white helmets.

Here are descriptions of some of the "missing" helmets:
- 1978 - 1979: white shell, royal blue "C" (for Culver) on the right side, and royal blue "S" (for Stockton) on the left side, unknown facemask color (probably gray or white);
- 1980: white shell, royal blue "CS" logo on each side, unknown facemask color (probably gray or white); I could add the 1978-9 and 1980 helmets to the site if I could obtain information about the facemask colors for these two;
- 1984: similar to the 1981-1983 helmet shown above, but with the addition of the team nickname "Wildcats" in cursive blue letters, outlined in white; I need a copy of the helmet logo for this one;
- 1985: apparently similar to the 1981-1983 helmet again, but with the addition of both a blue "paw print" and the team name "Wildcats" (above the paw).
- 1989: navy shell, white "cat head" logo; I need a copy of the helmet logo.
Photographs of some of these may be seen below; I would appreciate clearer photographs for any of these:
