Comments
Colorado State-Pueblo will be playing its first season of football in 2008; the helmet design shown above has been announced as the one which the team will be using.
Western New Mexico was using a new helmet design in 2007 (shown above). A decal was present on this design - the letters "WNMU" in purple - but it was worn at the back of the helmet, and is not visible from the vantage point which I use at this web site.
Chadron State and New Mexico Highlands were also using new helmet designs in 2007.
This is another conference for which I have received very little historical helmet information - any information for helmet designs used since 1960 would be appreciated.

*1 During at least the 2007 season the "bear paw" helmet logo was apparently being used only on the right sides of the helmets, with the left sides left "blank".

Colorado Mines appears to have used helmet stripes irregularly during the last few years. The stripes are visible in photographs from the following games: 2000 vs MidAmerica Nazarene, 2001 Vs Oklahoma Panhandle State, 2002 vs Western State, and 2003 vs Missouri-Rolla. The stripes were not used during at least the following games: vs South Dakota Tech in either 2001 or 2002, and vs Western New Mexico in 2003. An explanation for this inconsistency has been provided by a visitor to this web site: ..."in a couple seasons we did not have enough stripes at the begining of the season for everyone to have them, so we played without them until we could get enough stripes. The true helmet design is to have the stripes, the design without the stripes was more or less a mistake/extenuating circumstances" (thanks T.Y. for this information).

Fort Lewis's team was known as the "Raiders" prior to 1994. One helmet design from those days (specific years unknown) is shown in the photograph below; I have received a copy of the helmet logo for this one, but it is unclear whether any stripes were present; can anyone confirm or deny the presence of stripes on this design, and provide a photograph showing the stripes, if there were any?

NMHU used the helmet design shown in the photo below during the 2002 season. The color of the letters on the helmet cannot be determined from this photo (they could be either silver or white).
It has been reported to me that, from at least 1990 through 1995, the team used silver helmets with a logo similar to the one currently used by the University of Wyoming, but with the logo in purple. Photos would be appreciated.
